Dr. Syaru Shirley Lin

Shirley Lin is a Senior Advisor at Crestview. Dr. Lin is a member of the founding faculty of the professional master’s program in global political economy at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.  Dr. Lin retired as a partner of Goldman Sachs, where she led the Principal Investment Area for Asia ex-Japan, managing investments in more than fifty companies across multiple industries in twelve countries.  Prior to focusing on private equity and venture capital, Dr. Lin was involved in the privatization of state-owned enterprises in Mainland China, Taiwan and Singapore.  She has served on the boards of numerous private and public companies, and as the Chief Strategic Advisor for SMIC, the largest semiconductor foundry in China.  Dr. Lin currently serves as a director of Key Safety Systems and MassMutual Mercuries Life Insurance. Dr. Lin earned a Ph.D. in politics and public administration from the University of Hong Kong in 2010.  She graduated cum laude from Harvard College and also studied in Tokyo and Madrid.
